DuBois Redevelopment Authority Director Joe Mitchell said during Monday’s city council meeting that a new business, Romar Industrial Services, has moved into the Aspen way incubator. He said it plans to hire five people in the next couple of months.According to information from the Tarentum-based company, Romar Industrial Services is a leading used, rebuilt and new aftermarket parts supplier in the heavy equipment industry. it recently expanded into field and shop service in Western and central Pennsylvania.The new 9,000-square-foot facility is expected to be ready for service soon. it will function as a repair center and will house inventory of used and rebuilt heavy equipment parts. The location will also serve as the dispatch center for Romar’s DuBois field service team, providing cost-effective on-site repair solutions.”As a premier dismantler of late model heavy equipment, Romar offers parts such as transmissions, final drives, hydraulics, torques and engines,” mark Gaier, owner of Romar, said.”Romar is applying its 17-plus years of expertise to better serve the construction, mining and other heavy equipment industries in the DuBois area,” Gaier said. “This new facility reflects our commitment to leverage our capabilities and provide solutions to central Pennsylvania.” Romar’s DuBois plant will be managed by area resident John Nelen, who said Romar’s sister company, PennWest Industrial Trucks, specializes in Toyota and Kalmar forklifts and material handling supplies and will be sharing the building in the near future.PennWest offers new, used and rental solutions to the mining, timber, natural gas and local industries from pallet jacks to 50,000 pound forklifts.The authority built the incubator and rents space to start-up businesses at a low cost to “get their feet wet,” according to a previously published article.
